Sometime it is desirable to use a 3rd party to translate HireTrack NX into a foreign language; for example, if you need to use a 3rd party to tidy up a translation carried out automatically by Google Translate.
To make this possible we provide a stand alone Language Manager. The Language Manager application can be downloaded from https://files.navigator.systems/pub/HireTRACK NX/Tools/LangMngr.exe and run from anywhere on your PC. It doesn't need to have HireTrack NX installed, nor even be on the same network as the HireTrack NX server. The Language Manager is completely a independent application.
Before the Language Manager can be used, both the native language (master language) and the additional languages need to be exported from HireTrack NX. Here are all the steps that needed to be followed to implement the process:
1. Open the Translation module in HireTrack NX and click Lock & Edit Translation.
2. This will create a set of translation files in the folder
c:\users\[your user name]\Documents\Navigator Systems\HireTrack NX\translation.
Each translation file will contain a 3 letter code that indicates the country/language the file contains. E.g HireTrackNX.DEU.lng - Deutschland i.e German, HireTrackNX.FRA.lng - France i.e French.
There is also a master file HireTrackNX.ntv.lng.
3. Select the files that you want to send to the 3rd party translator. They will need the appropriate language files AND the master file. e.g to send the files to a French translator, you would need to send HireTrackNX.FRA.lng AND HireTrackNX.ntv.lng
4. Your 3rd party translator can now use the LangMngr.exe (Language Manager) program to start work on the translation. They simply use the Open Project menu to open the master file (HireTrackNX.ntv.lng) and then the Open Language menu to open the appropriate language file.
5. Once the 3rd party translator has finished, they save their work and eventually send the language file back to you e.g HireTrackNX.FRA.lng
To import the returned language file back in to HireTrack NX.
1. Open the Translation module in HireTrack NX and click Lock & Edit Translation.
2. Make sure that language you wish to import is open and has the focus e.g below we are ready to import into the French language as the Account Book cell has the focus (highlighted in Blue)
3. From the menu, select File | Import From | Language File
4. In the Dialog, use the folder icon to allow you to navigate to the file the 3rd party translator returned. In our example HireTrackNX.FRA.lng
5. Make sure that the appropriate options are checked.
Change translated items - if this is checked, any items that had been translated in HireTrack NX will be replaced by strings from the 3rd Party translation file. This will normally be CHECKED
Import untranslated items - Mark it if you want the untranslated items of imported language file to be imported. This will normally be UNCHECKED
Synchronize by - this should normally use Item names.
6. Confirm that you are importing the correct file into the desired language
That's all there is to it: simply Save & Unlock, close the Translation module and after a restart the new translation will be available to HireTrack NX users.
